Vienna, 20.04.2006 – The time has finally come: Heineken Music is bringing the international DJ superstar Tiesto back to Austria as part of the Heineken Green Room. The likeable Dutch artist will be giving the biggest concert in Central and Eastern Europe in Vienna to provide the top event of the summer with a brilliant show. Tickets are on sale now.
Tiesto, a household name for local fans of electronic music, is quite simply THE DJ for many. The legendary setting for the Heineken Green Room is the Freudenau harbor, an extraordinary and summery location – and thus also offers space for all those who were unable to get in at his last gig.
Tiesto, or Tijs Verwest as he is known, can confidently be described as a DJ of superlatives: in 2005, the Dutchman was the first DJ to sell out a stadium with more than 25,000 visitors – and played a 7-hour set there. At the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games in Athens, he played in front of an audience of millions; at Disney Land Resort Paris, he opened the spectacular opening concert of “Space Mountain: Mission 2” with Bob Sinclar, combining the magic of Disney with his own Magik Muzik.
Named “World’s Best DJ” four times in a row by the British DJ Magazine and crowned with numerous other awards, he was the one who managed to turn electronic music into a blockbuster – even in the USA, where guitar-heavy music is traditionally preferred.
Tiesto is undoubtedly one of the world’s most booked DJs and a much sought-after producer. And yet: superstar Tiesto is said to be one of the few in his genre who has remained down to earth. He enjoys making music – and if he hadn’t become a DJ, he would probably have become a chef, according to his own statements, as both professions combine the mixing of elements.
